Liturgical Ministry

Would you like to get more involved at Mass?  Their are many opportunities for members of our parish family to share their time and talents to assist in our liturgical celebrations.  We invite you to consider volunteering in one or more of the following ministries:

Altar Servers

Altar servers have the privilege of assisting the priest in the sanctuary during the Mass and other liturgical functions. This ministry is open to youth who have made his/her First Holy Communion.

Lectors

Lectors serve at Mass by proclaiming the sacred scripture during the Liturgy of the Word.  It is the role of the lector to read the 1st and 2nd readings, as well as, the intercessions.

Ushers

Ushers act as ministers of hospitality at Mass.  They greet and assist members of the congregation.  In addition, they are responsible for taking up the collection at Mass and distributing bulletins at the conclusion of Mass.

Eucharistic Ministers

The priest is considered the ordinary minister of the Eucharist.  The laity participate in this ministry as extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist, assisting the priest in the distribution of Holy Communion.  This ministry is open to practicing Catholics who have made their Confirmation.

Rosary Leaders

The rosary is a much beloved devotion of our Blessed Mother.  It is the tradition of our community to pray the rosary together prior to the start of our Sunday liturgy.  Volunteers serve our parish by leading the congregation in this devotion.

Music Ministers

Music Ministers enhance the experience of Mass by heightening the Word of God with music. They provide beauty to the Mass and encourage the voices of all to sing praise to God.
