One Day, One Hour, One Million Children Praying

Students and teachers in grades kindergarten through sixth at St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Vermillion joined one million children around the world in early October in Eucharistic Adoration on the Feast of St. Francis. During the three-hour period of silent prayer and reflection, classes took turns coming to the church to pray for one hour for Pope Francis, priests, and peace in all families and the world. The worldwide time of prayer was lead by Cardinal Donald Wuerl, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Washington, with a live broadcast by EWTN to more than 140 nations.
