St. John's students visit historic jail, classroom at Dakota Village

St. John the Baptist's third grade teacher, Sister Mary Noel, probably enjoyed a little quiet time in early October while her students spent a few minutes exploring the historical Dakota Village jail at the Dakota County Fair Grounds in Farmington. The class also spent a portion of the school day exploring the five-acre site filled with 22 1900-era buildings. Each school year, Sister Noel invites her students to dress in period costumes and experience the rural history of our county by reviewing artifacts, listening to costumed interpreters give demonstrations and completing school work in a one-room school house.
