Sisters at St. John's get special feast day greeting

Students, faculty and staff at St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Vermillion wished a happy St. Francis feast day to their Franciscan Clarist sisters. Sisters Tresa (principal, on the left), Noel (3rd grade teacher, not pictured) and Navya (4th grade teacher, on the right) are members of the Franciscan Clarist Congregation of religious sisters based in Kerala, India, and founded in 1888. The characteristics of this congregation of more than 7,000 women worldwide are the spirit of prayer, a life of hard work, care of homeless, service to the poor, as well as the teaching of religion and imparting of education. The sisters were presented with cards from all 120 students in grades preschool through 6th, and a framed picture of St. Francis from faculty and staff.
